Stockholms Prehospital Centre

The Stockholm County Council is responsible for all health care in the Stockholm area. Stockholm Prehospital Centre, SPC, is a competence centre for the Stockholm County Council located at the Södersjukhuset, Stockholm South General hospital, and is primarily a regional but also a national resource.

We operate in four areas: research, development, education and medical directives for the prehospital area. These research, development and education are done in cooperation with Karolinska Institutet. Consequently, we coordinate and create the necessary conditions for cooperation within the field of prehsopital care. Our goal is to create the optimal scientific care for the patients within the prehospital health care.

Training and Education Section

DEMC - Disaster and Emergency Medical Center – our education section, is a national and international resource for education and training in emergency and disaster medicine.  We organise and carry out courses in prehospital care, as trauma surgery, command, emergency care, CPR and decontamination.
